Movie lovers that obsess over the attention to detail have plenty to look out for in Shaun Of The Dead, including the fact that almost everyone on screen, even in minor or background roles, return later on in the film as zombies.

This includes Mary, the checkout girl featured in the opening credits, later turning up as the zombie girl in Shaun’s back garden, as well as Shaun’s co-worker, Noel, played by Rafe Spall, appearing as a trolley-pushing zombie at the end of the film.

Many of the other zombies were fans of Spaced and answered a casting call featured on the ‘Spaced Out’ fan website. These zombie extras were paid the pricey sum of one pound a day for their services, a homage to how George A. Romero paid his extras one dollar a day for featuring in his Dawn Of The Dead and Day Of The Dead movies.
