15 Things You Somehow Missed In Shaun Of The Dead

12. Zombie Nation

It is no secret that director Edgar Wright is a big fan of music and carefully considers every song that appears in his movies. This has never been more true than in his 2017 film, Baby Driver, in which the music plays a key role in the film.

However, this is also true of Shaun Of The Dead with each song either perfectly fitting the scene, as in the infamous ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ sequence, or offering hints to the overall theme of the film.

Multiple songs on the soundtrack share a common trait of including horror movie references in either the title of the song or the name of the band. Examples of this include the first song we hear in the movie, ‘Ghost Town’ by The Specials, as well as the scene where Shaun is riding the bus to work and a man in front of him is loudly playing a song by Zombie Nation.
