14. Large Marge - Pee-wee's Big Adventure

Leave it to Tim Burton to use a kid's film to scare the bejeezus out of you. Pee-wee's Big Adventure is at times very funny and sweet, but this moment of stop-motion grotesquery left children having nightmares. During the movie, Herman needs to hitch-hike somewhere and is picked up by a semi-truck, driven by an old woman called Large Marge. She regales Pee Wee with the story about how she died in a truck accident. She says that after the crash she looked 'like this', turning to Pee Wee and changing her face from her regular look into something considerably more ghoulish.
