9. Child Catcher - Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

This entry is probably just as scary for parents as it is for kids. Everyone might remember Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for the catchy songs and theatrical performances, but there is a dark side to the film, a dark side that is amply demonstrated in the scene with the Child Catcher. The child catcher is employed by Baron Bomburst to abduct and imprison children from the streets of the fictional town of Vulgaria. The way he captures the children is by luring them with the promise of ice cream and other treats. When they step inside his colourful cart he shuts the doors, cackles and drives away. To be fair, as traumatic as this is, it's not like kid's in the film weren't given fair warning about the child catcher. Many times before they fall for his scheme they are specifically warned about the dangers of strangers and the fact that there's a man going around and abducting kids.
