15 Unbelievably Hideous Horror Movie Sequels

10. Insidious Chapter Two

There are disappointing horror sequels and then there's this. Since the crew of the excellent and terrifying original were on-board, this had no excuse to be as crushingly dull, lazy and downright indifferent as it turned out to be.

This sequel just isn't scary and this time the jump scares don't work at all, while the story is also dreadful. In fact, 'story' is a term that should be used loosely since this doesn't have much of a plot. All it truly does is tie up the loose ends of the original for the entire movie.

With this one, the most logical explanation is that James Wan was distracted making The Conjuring and failed to put any effort into this. Unlike The Conjuring Universe, which has largely managed to turn out films that are OK at the very least (aside from Annabelle and The Nun), Insidious is one of those horror franchises which just wasn't worth sticking with after the first film. What a shame.
