15 Unforgettable Moments Which Made Guardians Of The Galaxy
7. A Bunch Of Jackasses Standing In A Circle
We all fell in love with Chris Pratt as Star-Lord/Peter Quill, and even Dave Bautista gave us a solid performance, but most of the adoration goes to the odd duo of Rocket Raccoon and his branchy pal Groot. Rocket, expertly voiced by Bradley Cooper, steals the show with many of his lines, and never more so than during Star-Lord's corny "Who's coming with me?" moment. It's your typical inspirational Dead Poet's Society "Oh captain, my captain" scenario, but handled with that Guardians comedic flair we see throughout the movie. In fact, some of the film's best lines crop up here, witty banter and self-depreciating charm slung back and forth between the stars. In the end, during the otherwise trite "stand up to show solidarity" moment, Rocket gives us his killer line as he's the last to get to his feet. "Well now I'm standing. Happy? We're all standing now. Bunch of jackasses, standing in a circle", brilliantly mocking the tired narrative construct they've just taken part in.
Game-obsessed since the moment I could twiddle both thumbs independently. Equally enthralled by all the genres of music that your parents warned you about.
