15 Upcoming Horror Films You Should Be Excited About

The original Sinister was one of the best horror films of the past few years, making great use of found footage and with a terrifying villain in Mr. Boogie. Now he's back in Sinister 2, which focuses on an entirely new family caught up in the string of murders.

The family here moves into one of the homes marked for death, probably a few down the line from the house at the end of the first movie. The original family isn't back (for obvious reasons), so this time the lead is a young mother (Shannyn Sossamon) who's raising two 9-year-old boys.

Changing things up from the first time around, Sinister 2 will be putting a greater focus on the kids as the main leads, whereas the first movie was mostly about Ethan Hawke's character. The primary question facing Sinister 2 is can it still be interesting and scary without any of the mystery? So much of the first movie was about unraveling the secrets behind Mr. Boogie, but now with all of those revealed, will this this be as interesting?

Scott Derrickson sadly isn't directing the film, but he and C. Robert Cargill have returned to write the screenplay, so hopefully at least some of the original's greatness can be retained here. Fingers crossed.
