15 Upcoming Horror Films You Should Be Excited About

13. The Visit (September 11)

M. Night Shyamalan's career has been a fascinating downward spiral, taking him from The Sixth Sense all the way to the abysmal The Happening and The Last Airbender. But he just refuses to give up, and there's something sort of admirable about that. Now we have the latest Shyamalan masterpiece, The Visit.

In this found footage movie, two kids go to visit their grandparents only to discover there's something seriously wrong with them. The trailer is totally bonkers, and it seems like Shyamalan taking some of the craziest and most unintentionally hilarious moments from The Happening and cranking them up to 11.

What's weird is that on IMDB, The Visit is listed as a comedy/horror. There doesn't appear to be much comedy in the trailer at all, so is this marketing really misleading? Or is it just that every Shyamalan movie now is unintentionally comedic? Either way, this looks like it could either be genuinely scary or just hilariously awful, but either way it should be a lot of fun. It's a win win scenario.
