Release Date: November 8, 2019

Why It's Doomed: Spectre boxed James Bond into a bit of a corner with him "retiring" to start a new life with Lea Seydoux's Madeleine Swann, and it seems incredibly likely that Swann will end up killed off at the start of the new movie in a rather lazy reprise of the end of On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

Furthermore, Daniel Craig is clearly aching to be done with the role, and it was recently confirmed that Christoph Waltz wasn't asked back to play Blofeld, with the implication being that the part will be needlessly recast.

It feels like the current minds behind the Bond franchise are trying too hard to keep Bond current and at the same time relentlessly homage classic Bond, as was one of the big problems with Spectre.

It'll be a shame if Craig's tenure concludes with yet another mixed effort, because given how excellent he is in the role, he deserves so, so much better. Best keep your expectations low, anyway.
