2. Krampus Rips Off... Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale
The Original Movie: In Finland, the original Santa Claus is accidentally unearthed, a supernatural entity who isn't too thrilled about being woken up, and goes on a murderous rampage against all those who have been "naughty". The Ripoff: A horror film revolving around a demon known as Krampus, a Santa Claus-like entity who seeks out ill-behaving people and punishes them for what they've done. Both are R-rated comedy horror films revolving around a similar entity that dresses as the Santa audiences know and love, but is something altogether different. The main difference is that Krampus is an anthology film (written and directed by Trick 'r Treat's Michael Dougherty), but tonally, and in terms of plot, they seem practically identical.
