15 Upcoming Movies That Are Essentially Rip-Offs

13. Paper Towns Rips Off... Gone Girl

The Original Movie: When Amy Dunne (Rosamund Pike) disappears, increasing suspicion is shone upon her husband Nick (Ben Affleck), as he attempts to fend off a ravenous media circus and find out exactly what happened to Amy, following a bizarre series of clues left for him by his wife. The Ripoff: On one fateful night, Quentin "Q" Jacobsen (Nat Wolff) reunites with his estranged childhood friend, Margo Roth Spiegelman (Cara Delevingne). After a night of debauchery, Margo disappears, and Q comes across a series of clues which may seemingly lead him to the answers he's looking for. They're both adapted from popular novels, and though the relationship between the two central characters is different, it's hard to deny that Paper Towns essentially feels like a tween take on the Gone Girl formula. It'll probably be a huge hit, too.
