15 Upcoming Movies That Might Be Surprisingly Awesome

9. King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword

Power Rangers
Warner Bros. Pictures

Release Date: March 24, 2017

Why It Should Suck: It's not that a King Arthur movie directed by Guy Ritchie is a bad idea, just that Charlie Hunnam seems like a bland choice for the lead role, the CGI looks hilariously awful for a $102 million movie, and Ritchie's last two movies weren't much special, were they?

Oh, and David Beckham apparently has a cameo in it.

Why It Might Be Awesome: On the other hand, when Ritchie nails a movie, he really nails it, and his clear effort to make the legend of King Arthur fun should make his take distinct and unique. Plus, it's got a stupid-good cast including Jude Law, Djimon Hounsou, Eric Bana and Aidan Gillen, and everyone looks to be having a lot of fun, which is the main thing.

They've got six months to tidy up that CGI, so hopefully it'll look a lot more crisp when audiences finally get to sit down and watch it. If it strikes the right tone, this could be a blast.
