14. G.I. Joe Reboot "For Millennials"

With Paramount struggling to accommodate Dwayne Johnson's increasingly busy schedule, the decision has been made to scrap the existing two-movie G.I. Joe franchise and give it a wildly unnecessary reboot, which will take "a more millennial approach".

Hasbro's rep added, "The world has changed, and I think you’re going to see G.I. Joe changing with it. There’s going to be a much more contemporary approach to the whole franchise."

A modern update of a very, very retro franchise that was a pretty modest success at the box office a few years ago? There's no way this could go wrong, especially as this news came out six months ago but barely anybody made a big deal out of it then.

Milennials and G.I. Joe go together like toothpaste and orange juice, so short of a radical reinvention to the point that it no longer resembles G.I. Joe at all, this one's got failure written all over it.
