15 Weirdest Ever Batman Movie Tie-In Toys

13. Decoy Batman - Mask Of The Phantasm

Mask of the Phantasm is a fantastic movie, one of the best Batman films ever made, animated or otherwise. It generated a line of very faithful looking toys with the classic Batman : TAS design style.

But this toy is confusing as hell.

It appears that Bruce is meant to hold up a caped and cowled fake version of himself as a...distraction? Target?

Meanwhile, he stands there in part of his Batman costume with his face exposed for the world to see, hoping that the bad guys will think that what is essentially a bust of Batman is the real thing.

A toy that lets you switch between Bruce and Batman is nothing new; they were making those all the way back in the '80s in the Kenner Super Powers lineup. But this figure isn't really either of those things - it's kinda Bruce and kinda Batman.

Of course, being the early '90s, the figure also had a gun; a grappling gizmo of some type. The costume design is also odd, with red being the dominant colour, one that you seldom see as a variant in the comics.

The figure is very detailed and well-designed, it simply doesn't make much tactical or strategic sense.
