15 Weirdest Ever Batman Movie Tie-In Toys
10. Batman Returns Board Game - Batman Returns
Another relic from the days of movie tie-in board games, the Batman Returns 3D Board Game gave you the chance to help Batman save Gotham City, as long as you don't lose any of the pieces and render the whole game unusable within 15 minutes of unwrapping it.
Along with the standard dice and tokens, the Batman Returns game allowed you to build a cardboard replica of Gotham City. There was a centre tower that represented the skyscrapers of the city, where Catwoman hung out, and underneath that was the Penguin's 'Arctic World ice cave' where he and the Red Triangle Circus folk were spending time arming penguins with bombs.
Your job as one of four differently-coloured Batmen was to move around the board, hopefully avoiding Catwoman and fighting enemies who were the same colour as you. If you didn't make your way around quickly enough, the Penguin could use 'explosion' tokens...
Look, let's be honest. This was an excuse for kids to build the tower and then have their Batman or TMNT figures swing around it. It would be shocking if one complete round of this game was ever completed.
If this game had controllers, they likely would have been thrown in a rage.
