15 Weirdest Moments In Harry Potter Films
1. All The Slapstick - The Prisoner Of Azkaban
The so-called darkest film of the franchise. The so-called best of the bunch with the biggest emotional impact. And it had time to fit in slapstick comedy.
Nobody is ragging on the series for having funnier moments but those were tonally fitting with their individual films. These moments in Prisoner Of Azkaban stick out so much, the tone is constantly shifting to the point that they pull you right out of the moment.
Such moments include the rapid breaking of the Knight Bus resulting in Harry lurching forward and sticking his face on a window (twice), Neville getting chewed by a sentient book, the whomping willow shedding it's leaves Monty Python-style and murdering a bird.
Most egregious is when Ron is dragged away by Sirius under the willow, with Harry and Hermione avoiding its branches. Hermione gets grabbed and Harry stumbles around looking for his glasses. Hermione grabs hold of Harry, at before being taken away himself takes the time to look down, then directly at the camera before flying sideways.
Why not go full Looney Toons and hold up a little sign saying "Help" while you're at it!
