15 Worst Comic Book Movie Sequels Ever
15. The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Given how exceptional Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2 was, Sony will have been hoping for a similar uplift in quality with Marc Webb's reboot sequel. Unfortunately, they skipped ahead a film and it ended up being more like Spider-Man 3: over-stuffed, split by too many villains and a fumbled mishandling of a great concept.
There are some things to enjoy in it - Jamie Foxx's Electro for instance - but it tries way too much and Webb fails quite badly to balance it all. There's way too much focus on setting up sequels and spin-offs and when earnest focus on the Gwen Stacy story is required it feels a little like a secondary concern.
Time might remember it a little more fondly, but with Marvel releasing their MCU Spider-Man movie might make it even worse by proximity.
