15 Worst MCU Villains (So Far)

6. Sonny Burch - Ant-Man And The Wasp

Iron Man 2 Whiplash
Marvel Studios

Remember this guy? Nope, didn't think so.

While the characters Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) and Bill Foster (Laurence Fishburne) are at odds with the heroes throughout, they aren't really villains, since they're trying to save Ghost's life. Frankly, Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) often feels like more of a villain than they do, since he makes so little effort to help her despite having the resources to do so.

It therefore feels like Sonny Burch (Walton Goggins), a black market dealer trying to steal Pym's technology, was just put in to make sure the film had one unambiguous villain to its name. Honestly, they shouldn't have bothered.

Sonny Burch shows up to bother the heroes in a few scenes throughout the film and that's pretty much the extent of his role; worse still, he's irritating and silly as opposed to even being remotely threatening and he doesn't have any depth whatsoever, so he fails as the film's antagonist on pretty much every single level.

In scene where Sonny shows up the Wasp exclaims exasperatedly "This guy again?!" and every time he appears, that's exactly what viewers will be thinking too.
