15 Worst MCU Villains (So Far)
5. Dreykov - Black Widow
Wow... this guy SUCKS.
Dreykov, a Russian general who oversees the Red Room program and is about to carry out a world domination plan, had an absolute ton of potential. He's the main villain in Black Widow's dark past and, in terms of the human, non-supernatural villains in the MCU he might just be the nastiest of them all.
We could've got a chilling, haunting villain who lent real emotional stakes to Natasha's story and what did the film give us? A low-grade, one-note Bond villain parody who somehow ended up in a Marvel film.
In spite of all the terrible things the character is said to have done, Dreykov is a staggeringly dull and unthreatening character who's further ruined by the hideous miscasting. Ray Winstone is a very good actor in most things, but his performance here was just terrible and he turns in what is arguably one of the worst Russian accents ever put to film.
There's also no logic to this character. His plan is nonsense and it's impossible to believe that SHIELD or the Avengers didn't take him down before the events of this film, given how long he's apparently been active.
Just awful.
