15 Worst MCU Villains (So Far)

13. The Lizard - Spider-Man: No Way Home

This character, of course, isn't actually originally from the MCU; the Lizard (Rhys Ifans) is one of the many villains from past Spider-Man films brought back in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The Lizard was not a good villain in 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man since he managed to be both silly (after all, his evil plan was to turn everyone in New York into giant lizards) and boring at the same time. Therefore, it's not like anyone wanted to see him again, but it seemed possible that this second appearance could redeem the character.

Unfortunately, unlike Jamie Foxx's Electro (from The Amazing Spider-Man 2), the Lizard didn't improve upon his return. He mostly feels like background dressing and never has much presence, while the many gags about characters mistaking him for a dinosaur make him seem like even less of a threat. Also, the CGI on him sucked.

Since the other villains the film brought back mostly worked, the Lizard really stuck out like a sore thumb and frankly, it would've been better not to include him. After all, there are quite a few other past Spider-Man villains we'd all rather have seen return.
