15 Worst Superhero Movie Costumes Ever
13. Apocalypse (X-Men: Apocalypse)
X-Men fans were right to be excited when Oscar Isaac was cast as legendary comic book villain Apocalypse for 2016's superhero epic. But the excitement quickly started to deflate once the first set picture emerged, with a purple-lit Apocalypse being mockingly compared to Power Rangers baddie Ivan Ooze.
Though the final movie did in fact depict the villain in a more faithful shade of gunmetal blue, the problem remained that the suit just lacked the imposing majesty of the comic book Apocalypse.
It just looks like a regular humanoid dressed up in a fancy costume, when it's clear the suit needed to be far bulkier to give Apocalypse a stature close to, say, Josh Brolin's Thanos.
He is admittedly an incredibly difficult villain to adapt to the screen, but putting a fairly slim actor in a surprisingly dainty costume clearly wasn't the way to go. That's to say nothing of the garish, performance-encroaching makeup applied to Isaac, only adding to how silly he looks. This was a waste in every respect.
