14. Electro (The Amazing Spider-Man 2)

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is an intensely rubbish film, and so too is its primary villain Electro, played by an inexplicably cast Jamie Foxx. But even approaching the character's look on its own terms, Electro never manages to differentiate himself from any generic, early 2000s superhero movie villain.

The black battle-suit is what happens in superhero movies when the costume department runs out of other ideas, and it's especially embarrassing forcing Electro into one of them when his yellow-green comic book attire is so memorable and iconic.

Nobody's saying the movie version had to be totally comic-accurate, but there was definitely room for a more muted interpretation of the source material rather than just throwing together whatever "gritty, dark" clothing they had lying around.

And let's not even get started on that damn hoodie proto-suit...
