Parallel to the Kong plot is Godzilla, who breaks free from the iceberg he was buried in at the end of the last film. He continues on a path of destruction while Kong breaks free from his human captors. Its not long before the two cross paths for the first time. This has been what weve been waiting for; it should be awesome, right? Actually, Kong just throws some rocks, to which Godzilla answers with a couple shots of his atomic breath, scaring Kong away. Anyones first thought watching this for the first time is, Thats it? Its not exactly the royal rumble weve been expecting. The fight itself is kind of sad really. Godzillas atomic breath takes Kong completely by surprise, and the look of confusion on his face is, honestly, pretty funny. This Kong may look like garbage, but he does look adequately pathetic when needed. Those expecting a no holds bar fight right away will have to wait a little longer. See, Godzilla movies were teasing audiences long before Gareth Edwards did.
