For an actor so beloved, and so obviously talented, Idris Elba has not always made the best decisions when it comes to blockbusters, which is why two of his four comic book movie appearances edge towards the poorer end of the scale (and drop off the end, in the case of the unnecessary Ghost Rider sequel.) Having made his name in the superlative The Wire, Elba first came to the genre six years after bowing out of that show with The Losers - the high-octane, well-acted ensemble that was utterly over-shadowed by the proximity of the A-Team and Expendables releases. For his part, he was good in it, and a year later took a more regal approach for Kenneth Branagh's Thor, playing astral doorman Heimdall, which worked a lot better even if he was somewhat under-used. And then he had to spoil it all by saying something stupid like yes to Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance.
