16 Actors Who Starred In More Than One Comic Book Movie Series
4. Jeffrey Dean Morgan - Watchmen/The Losers/Jonah Hex
There's something about Jeffrey Dean Morgan that immediately screams grizzled hero: like near-doppelganger Javier Bardem, he has the kind of face that effortlessly conveys that he has seen some stuff. And that's probably precisely why the gruff-voiced actor was cast as The Comedian in the much-developed Watchmen adaptation that proved the naysayers who thought it impossible entirely wrong. As the haunted walking contradiction, Morgan was a revelation, balancing the character's gleeful passion for violence and casual disdain for the value of human life with a genuinely wounded persona later in his arc as he seemingly weighed up the cost of his actions to his soul. He was also something of a paradox: happy to use his fists and weapons first, but also capable of deep insight into precisely what role superheroes actually play. His second role in comic book movies came with his leading slot in the mostly unloved adaptation of The Losers, which was well-acted - including by Morgan - but misguided and over-blown. For all of the nuances in his comedian, the generic follow-up was brash and vulgar. And then he took an uncredited role in Jonah Hex - the lesser said of which the better.
