16 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy The Matrix Trilogy

5. Hugo Weaving Goes Full Ham (Revolutions)

Depending on your outlook, this is either one of the best or worst moments in the entire Matrix franchise. In Revolutions, as Smith becomes more powerful, he starts getting more and more loony, and that manifests itself in one ridiculous scene at the Oracle's home, where he assimilates her and starts laughing maniacally for a good 8 or 9 seconds. Even with some of Smith's more over-acted lines later in the movie ("This is my world...MY WORLD!"), this is Hugo Weaving playing the role as hammy and over-the-top as possible. On one hand it's tremendously entertaining to watch, and on the other, it's practically impossible to take seriously: giggling uncontrollably is the more likely response.
