16 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy The Matrix Trilogy

4. Love Conquers All (The Matrix)

One of the more outlandish moments in the entire Matrix series is the "love conquers all" deus ex machina ending in The Matrix. After Neo has been killed inside The Matrix by Smith, Trinity whispers to Neo that the Oracle told her she would fall in love with The One, and after she plants a passionate liplock on him, he is revived with new-found powers that allow him to defeat Smith. Even if you accept the insinuation that Trinity's kiss provided Neo's mind with the information it needed to understand that he wasn't supposed to be dying in the real world, it's still pretty damn cheesy, not unlike the whole "true love's kiss" shtick from fairy tales. Ultimately, the movie is awesome enough that it's not a big deal, but even so, it is one of the series' gooiest and silliest scenes.
