7. Robin Hood (2010)
Rotten Tomatoes: 43% (Average Score: 5.35/10)
Critical Consensus: Ridley Scott's revisionist take on this oft-told tale offers some fine acting and a few gripping action sequences, but it's missing the thrill of adventure that made Robin Hood a legend in the first place.
Another Robin Hood film, this one is actually quite a bit better than you might remember.
It's true that it lacks the adventurous tone associated with Robin Hood and goes down a more realistic, gritty route, but that alone certainly doesn't make it bad. It mixes the legend with real-life history very effectively and that makes this a very interesting take on the story.
There are a fair few issues with it, most notably Russell Crowe's awful attempt at a Nottingham accent, but this definitely isn't the dud some say it is.
Thanks to strong directing, a reasonably engaging plot and two fantastic villainous performances from Oscar Isaac and Mark Strong, this is a perfectly solid blockbuster and it's mercifully a hell of a lot better than most of the rubbish director Ridley Scott has been turning out for the last twenty years.
