16 Delayed 2021 Movies That Were Actually Worth Waiting For

3. Dune

No Time to Die Daniel Craig
Warner Bros.

Denis Villeneuve's long-awaited adaptation of the legendary sci-fi novel Dune is, more or less, the greatest Hollywood blockbuster of the year and it easily lives up to the considerable hype.

A fascinating and layered story that unfolds in a richly-drawn cinematic world, Dune is an utterly immersive and compelling (if emotionally distant) piece of storytelling that is given further lift by its terrific ensemble cast, deft thrills and Villeneuve's outstanding direction.

In other words, it's the adaptation of Dune that fans of the book have been waiting for for decades. Had a sequel not been announced, the fan outrage would've been absolutely overwhelming.

Luckily, Dune Part 2 is on the way and, judging by how good the first part was, it should be absolutely awesome.
