16 Intriguing Indie Films To Watch Out For In Spring 2014

Here's 16 intriguing flicks to help pass the time 'til the blockbuster season hits.

Too often, we tend to complain about there being a lack of quality films before the summer blockbuster season lands. Hollywood seems primarily focused on putting out big-budget blockbusters in the summer, of course, before unleashing the majority of their "Oscar bait" films during the fall. But what about in the spring? Well, this spring, we have two films that are guaranteed to be major hits: Captain America: Winter Soldier and Divergent. Meanwhile, Darren Aronofsky's Noah and Wally Pfister's Transcendence look very interesting as well. But if you're not all that impressed with what mainstream cinema has to offer in the next few months, then you should definitely check out this list. There are at least 16 independent films that are worth getting excited about this spring. 16! And it would appear that there is something for everyone on this list. Director-driven comedies? Check. Mind-bending thrillers? Plenty of those. Explicit sex? We definitely have that in here too. So, if you live in a major city, mark your calendars. If you don't, then keep your eye out for when these movies finally reach a theater near you. Please note, this list is in order of release date only, as it's much too difficult to play favorites at this point...
