12. Seann William Scott - American Pie: The Wedding
It's probably a bit of a stretch to call Seann William Scott a cool guy, since he's responsible for the creation of Stifler (and innumerate characters who subsequently ripped Stifler off) but even for him, the spectacularly funny dance off scene in American Pie: The Wedding (easily the greatest single moment of the entire franchise) is pretty mythology ruining. But look at how much fun! And of course his dance partner, lest we forget, was the first actor to play Thor on the big screen, in an awful Incredible Hulk TV movie sequel. Remember that next time you watch moments like this...

11. Channing Tatum - Magic Mike
Of course he's dancing like someone is watching, because there's a baying crowd of sex-hungry women aching for a glimpse of his dongle, but that doesn't change the glorious pleasure Tatum clearly takes in reliving his stripper days for the frankly brilliant Magic Mike. It takes a lot to upstage Matthew McConaughey in the girating naked body stakes, right up until the point where the famously unclothed actor pushes all pretence out of his role and does this...
10. Hugh Grant - Love Actually
For an actor with such notoriously limited range - whose major deviations have included just being a little bit nasty a few times (aside from Cloud Atlas) - dancing was always going to be a big step for Hugh Grant. Given the benefit of hindsight, that step becomes even bigger, considering how awkward even an obviously comic dance becomes in his hands. Dad dancing, thy name is Grant.
