At its heart, Fifty Shades is pure, melodramatic soap opera trash, and the final confrontation between Ana and Christian's first lover, Elena (Kim Basinger), proves that.

Throughout the movie she insists that Ana needs to let Christian go and find someone else, so when she finds out they're getting married, she has some choice words for Ana.

Cue Ana getting fed up of her sh*t and throwing a glass of wine in her face, before Christian's mother (Marcia Gay Harden) tells Elena to leave, and slaps her around the face for good measure. Christian delivers the killing blow by telling her, "You may have taught me how to f*ck, but [Ana] taught me how to love." Classic.
