10. Jeff Goldblum Was Almost The Hulk

After the mid-1990s Hulk project collapsed, the big screen adaptation was up in the air, and a number of big name actors were linked with the role, including Billy Crudup - who passed - and Jurassic Park star Jeff Goldblum, who tested unsuccessfully for the role.

Goldblum is of course no stranger to body-shock movies, having made arguably the most memorable of all in The Fly, and there is something irresistible in the idea of a Hulk movie played in similar terms, which he may have brought to the role of Bruce Banner, but that sadly was not to be.

Instead the role went to Eric Bana, who was largely shackled by the ponderous tone, and you get the sense that even if Goldblum had been cast, he wouldn't have been a good fit for Ang Lee's vision.
