Say what you want about Superman Returns, but the Academy voters aren't fools. After Bryan Singer's movie lost out to Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, they snubbed both Man Of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. If the franchise's level of quality control continues on its current downward trajectory, DC can expect more snubs in the future.

Just thinking about Superman Returns and Dawn Of Justice makes me want to go back and revisit both, see if they're as still as disappointing as I remember them being. Then again, that's five hours of my life gone (again) so perhaps not.

Superman Returns is just over a decade old, but you can say this much for a fact: it can't hold a candle to Richard Donner's movie, which is nearly forty years old.
