Get the tissues ready. Many of us thought The Force Awakens would play things extremely safe, but nope. Han wants to bring his son back to the Light Side, and goes to talk to him near the end of the movie at the Starkiller Base. It seems that Han has won Kylo over, as he drops his helmet and goes to hand his custom-built lightsaber over, but at the last minute Kylo stabs Han through the chest with the saber, causing him to keel over and fall off the edge of the narrow bridge they're standing on, Han's body falling hundreds of feet below. Though it was a fairly predictable moment, the shock value cannot be understated, that Han didn't get a drawn-out death with an emotional speech, but was done away with in brutal fashion and nobody is even really shown reacting to it, except for a very, very p*ssed off Chewbacca, who immediately opens fire on Ren. Leia, on the other hand, is barely shown to give even the vaguest s***.
