4. The Older Cast Is Miles Better Than Most Of The Young Cast

In terms of the adult actors, this is one of the best-cast franchises ever. Not only are the majority of these actors great in their parts but they always fit them so well.

In the Harry Potter films, the adult actors (with the exception of Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix Lestrange) were consistently superb, with Alan Rickman, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, David Thewlis, Gary Oldman, Imelda Staunton and both the actors who played Dumbledore in particular standing out as extraordinarily good.

Similarly, the Fantastic Beasts films have been very well-acted indeed, with Dan Fogler and Jude Law being the standouts amongst that highly impressive cast.

Unfortunately, the younger cast of the Harry Potter films is considerably less impressive. This is understandable, since acting when one is so young is always hard, and most of the young actors got better and better with age, but they have always been overshadowed by the adult actors.

Another distracting thing is that the franchise isn't led by a terribly strong performance. With the nostalgia-tinted glasses removed, Daniel Radcliffe is rather hit-or-miss as Harry Potter, although Rupert Grint and Emma Watson are much better.
