18 Crazy Facts You Have To Accept To Enjoy The Wizarding World Movies

3. All Ten Of The Films Are Poorly Edited

Bad editing dogs every single one of the films in this franchise and this is perhaps the reason why the franchise doesn't actually have a five-star entry. This isn't surprising, since these films are (mostly) based on books which cover an entire academic year and this is harder to represent on-screen than on the page, but it is a distracting issue.

The one which suffers from this the least is Prisoner of Azkaban, but even that one feels rushed at times, especially when Harry is learning the Patronus.

As already mentioned, the first two films suffered from sticking too closely to the books and were not only poorly-structured, but also went on forever (the first film more than the second one).

The fourth, fifth and sixth books struggled to pack the huge amount of content from the books into a feature-length framework and rushed quite a few things, especially Half-Blood Prince. As for the two Deathly Hallows films, they were better but they still had major structuring issues due to the story being split in two.

Neither of the Fantastic Beasts films have been well-edited or well-structured either. In particular, the second of those films was structurally broken and hopped between far too many characters.
