18 Crucial Questions For 2015's Most Anticipated Movies
6. Are Inside Out & The Good Dinosaur A Return To Form For Pixar?
Release Dates: June 19th & November 25th Despite their reputation for releasing some of the greatest animated movies of all time (the Toy Story franchise, Wall-E, Up, Monsters Inc and The Incredibles), Pixar's recent output hasn't been quite up to the same standard: Cars 2 was a dud, Brave was a passable diversion and Monsters University was fun but flawed. 2014 is the first year since 2005 where Pixar didn't release a movie, instead opting to release two movies next year in the form of a mind-bending exploration of the brain (Inside Out) and a look at what the world would be like if the dinosaurs were never made extinct (The Good Dinosaur). Can one of these two promising movies restore Pixar's AAA reputation that has been sorely lacking over the last 4 years? Verdict: It's worth saying that fans have been thoroughly spoiled by Pixar over the years, and so expecting 5-star masterpieces every time they step up to bat isn't very reasonable. That said, given the ambitious premises of both Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur, there's a pretty solid chance that one of them (probably Inside Out) will deliver enough heart and imagination to sit alongside some of Pixar's finer efforts, probably winning them yet another Academy Award or two in the process.
