18 Crucial Questions For 2015's Most Anticipated Movies

5. Is The Friday The 13th Reboot Found Footage?

Release Date: November 13th Despite the previous 2009 Friday The 13th reboot proving a solid financial success, a sequel was never actively pursued, and so it was decided to just reboot the damn thing again, seemingly for no reason. However, interest was unexpected piqued amid rumours earlier this year that this new take on Jason Voorhees would be going the found footage route. Though it might anger franchise purists, do they really just want to see another boring, repetitive movie in which Jason impales attractive young teens for 90 minutes? Though found footage is itself not particularly original anymore, it would at least provide a fresh spin on Jason, and seeing his slaughter take place in such a format would be nothing if not a unique approach to the series. Given how rote the 2009 remake was, this has the potential to at least be an interesting shift in direction for the hockey mask-clad killer. Verdict: It has definitely been discussed, though those in charge are shying away from confirming it, likely because they want to get a feel for the audience reaction first. In honesty, it really could go either way.
