18 Crucial Questions For 2016's Most Anticipated Movies
12. Has It Been Too Long Since Angels & Demons? - Inferno
The Question: With the first Tom Hanks-starring Robert Langdon movie, The Da Vinci Code, hitting cinemas way back in 2006 and the sequel following in 2009, has too much time passed for a third movie to still find an audience a whole 7 years later? Will it go the way of, say, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, where viewers just lost interest in seeing another film? The Likely Answer: Though it probably won't be a box office bomb, at the same time consider that Angels And Demons only made $485.9 million compared to The Da Vinci Code's astronomical $758.2 million. There's not exactly much nostalgic appeal for this franchise which might restore its financial glory. It's probably best to expect a minor success at best in the $300 million range, albeit one that Columbia Pictures will no doubt be disappointed with.
