Like everything else in the world right now, the movie industry is in a state of shock, and is suffering for it. With countries on lockdown all over the world, studios have had to take the last resort step of pushing back releases until more people are able to get to the cinema to see them.

Some have been affected more than others, with certain movies having their release dates pushed back by more than 12 months. While this is far from ideal, Disney have simply given their schedule a reshuffle, and are more than prepared with plenty of movies for 2021 and beyond.

The House of Mouse currently has 41 confirmed release dates from next year onward, stretching as far out as 23rd December 2022. Not all of these currently have specific movies assigned to them, in fact only a handful actually do, but we are certainly able to take some educated guesses as to what will fill the rest.

With Pixar, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, and 20th Century Studios all now falling under the banner, there has never been more to look forward to from Disney, and there will be plenty waiting for us once this crazy year is in the past.

18. Untitled Star Wars Film

Despite The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker adding up to possibly the worst, and certainly the most divisive Star Wars trilogy yet, the franchise is still one of the most lucrative in the world, and Lucasfilm will keep milking this cash cow for as long as they can.

Not only through the likes of The Mandalorian and the Obi-Wan Kenobi project on Disney+, but with more movies on the big screen. Though we know Episode VIII director Rian Johnson is developing a new trilogy away from the Skywalker Saga, there is currently only one Star Wars movie on Disney's release schedule.

The movie will be released on 16th December 2022, and may well be the first chapter in Johnson's new story.

Other than Johnson, the godfather of the MCU, Kevin Feige, has reportedly been approached to put a new movie in development, as has Thor: Ragnarok and Jojo Rabbit director, Taika Waititi. If either of these two have anything to do with a new Star Wars movie, chances are it will be great.
