The future landscape of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was paved out in great detail in 2019 thanks to Kevin Feige at San Diego Comic Con, however, there were some big details left out. At the end of his presentation in Hall H, Feige reeled off a handful of other movies in development but as of yet don't carry a release date.

While there are five empty slots allocated to Disney's live action side of the studio, there is only one untitled Marvel movie, set for release on 7th October 2022. This really could be anything, but there are some that are more likely than others.

We already know that directors James Gunn and Peyton Reed will be returning for Guardians Volume 3 and Ant-Man 3 respectively, and that Mahershala Ali will lead a Blade movie in the future. This date could even be the home of New Mutants, though by this time it might just be easier to release it on Disney+ or give up on it entirely.

Though it hasn't technically been confirmed yet, there is sure to be an Avengers 5, and this release date would make sense if it were to continue the tradition of capping off each phase. There are also, of course, the options that came across to Disney in the Fox merger. Could this be the Fantastic Four's reinvention, or a movie based around mutants?
