16. Five Live Action Disney Movies
Since the success of Maleficent, Cinderella and Beauty And The Best, live action remakes of classic animated movies from the past are now a cornerstone of Disney's plans. The extent of this is shown by the fact that the company has confirmed FIVE more will be released by the end of 2022.
12th March 2021, 19th November 2021, 25th March 2022, 27th May 2022, and 4th November 2022 will all see a new live action Disney movie, and though there are no specific movies tied to any of these dates, we do know some of the projects currently in development.
Halle Bailey has already been cast as Ariel for a reboot of The Little Mermaid, Josh Gad is attached to executive produce Hunchback, and Jon Favreau will continue his work with 'live action' animals with The Jungle Book 2. All this on top of a remake of The Sword in the Stone, Lilo and Stitch, and Robin Hood.
Of course, these dates don't technically confirm that they will be remakes. One could well be the as of yet untitled Pirates of the Caribbean 6, or possibly something completely different that hasn't even been announced yet.
