18 Great Actors Totally Wasted In James Bond Movies

8. Michael Kitchen

Played: Bill Tanner in Goldeneye and The World is Not Enough.

Michael Kitchen, who is perhaps best known for his wonderful turn as Detective Superintendent Christopher Foyle in ITV's fantastic detective series Foyle's War, was given even less to do than Rory Kinnear in his two appearances as Tanner.

Much like Kinnear, Kitchen does a solid job with what he was given and there's also a very funny scene in which he describes the new M (Judi Dench) as the "evil queen of numbers"... unaware that she's standing right behind him.

Nonetheless, given what a strong actor Kitchen really is, seeing him in such a small and expository role is pretty darn distracting. After all, he rarely makes films and it's a shame that this was his most high-profile film part to date.
