18 Moments That Will Ruin Home Alone For You

6. Church Meeting

Maybe it€™s a sign of the world we live in, but the church scene involving Kevin and Old Man Marley just simply wouldn€™t happen these days. To the cynical eye, this is a creepy old dude who has supposedly murdered a load of people with his snow shovel. Having him sit next to a random 8-year-old in church is a little weird enough, yet things sound even more sinister when Marley insists that, whilst there are horrible stories out there about him, none of them are true. Creepy old man with a shady past trying to convince a young boy of his honest intentions? Yeah, that€™s a newspaper exclusive waiting to happen. Of course, 1990 was a different time, and the moral of the story here is to not judge a book by its cover or by what you hear about it. But still, when viewed through modern eyes and with such horror stories in the press over recent years, this well-meaning moment has largely been tarnished for some.
