18 More Things You Didn't Know About The Terminator

1. The Hero And Villain Are Only In One Shot

Despite the fact Kyle Reese and The Terminator are constantly at odds throughout the entire film, they almost never share the screen. In fact, the only shot that the actors, Michael Biehn and Arnold Schwarzenegger, share is when Kyle Reese blasts his adversary from behind in the disco shootout scene.

Although the Terminator is in the same shot as Kyle when he punches through the car windscreen, the hand that we see belongs to a stunt double, not Arnie. Kyle Reese does have a few shots with the Terminator in the climax but these are with a puppet, not the actor.

One of the reasons this occurs is because Kyle is constantly running away from his enemy or attacking it from a distance. But the main reason why they don't share the screen is simple; scheduling conflicts. Arnie was busy filming Conan the Destroyer so James Cameron filmed as many scenes as he could without him.

The film is edited so perfectly, you wouldn't even notice the actors barely met each other. What's even weirder is how viewers never seem to notice until it's pointed out to them!
