18 Most Anticipated Movies For Nerds Coming In 2021

Based on Frank Herbert's epic science fiction novel and 1984 movie of the same name, 2021 will see the release of a new and improved Dune adaptation. Starring Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson and Jason Momoa, the film will follow the narrative of Paul Atreides, a boy who is born destined to travel planets and stars to save his own people.

Fans of the original story will remember the long - and debatably in some places quite gruelling - plot, with the new movie set to have an even bigger budget the second time round. A trailer has been released in the last few months, which shows the stars over expanding landscapes, with special effects at it's finest to achieve the look from the pages of the book.

The movie is looking at a release date of October 2021, with more promo footage and trailers to come. It has been awarded as Letterboxd's most anticipated film of the year, and has remained in place for over 12 months as book and film geeks alike await the new adaptation.

The novel was known for its violent scenes, which were famously cut from the first film attempt, but we will have to wait and see if this is the case for the second time round. It is set to be a two part adaptation.
