18 Most Anticipated Movies For Nerds Coming In 2021

15. Ghostbusters: Afterlife

No Time To Die Daniel Craig
Sony Pictures

1984 saw the release of the Ivan Reitman-directed Ghostbusters, taking cinemas by storm with its all star cast, never before seen special effects and big spooks. Since then, the movie has been named a classic to this day, for family and people of all ages to enjoy.

The franchise has seen a few additions since the original, including the connected sequel Ghostbusters 2 in 1989 and the 2016 adaptation (that we just don't talk about!). Fans have waited many years for a new and somewhat improved sequel, and the time has finally come for this to happen.

Directed by Reitman's son Jason, Ghostbusters: Afterlife takes place in the present day, 35 years after the original, as a family move in to a new town and discover their secret connection to the team, and the legacy they left behind. The film's trailer promises nostalgia without the cringe of comedic reference nods, with Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard and Mckenna Grace new to the cast and rumours that old cast members will be coming back to reprise their roles.
