18 Most Heartbreaking Moments In The MCU (So Far)
12. "You Were Wrong"
After his defeat at the hands of Eric Killmonger in ritual combat, T'Challa is rescued and kept in a state of limbo, near death, by M'Baku and his people. Fed the heart-shaped herb to return him to his Black Panther strength, T'Challa takes a second trip to the Ancestral Plane.
Upon seeing his father, he proceeds to angrily confront T'Chaka about abandoning his cousin, Killmonger, once known as N'Jadaka. He realises in that moment that his father, whom he looked to for guidance and the right path, made a decision so wrong that he threatened the future of Wakanda by turning his back on the rest of the world. A decision so wrong that he abandoned a young boy that should have been welcomed and protected, filling him with loneliness and hatred.
Shouting at his father that he was wrong, T'Challa shows the vulnerability and deep sadness of a child realising that his father was not only imperfect, but that he brought harm upon others. It clearly shakes the young king to his core, pushing him to make choices his father never would have.
It's an emotional scene, made all the more memorable by Chadwick Boseman's fantastic and genuine performance.
