The Tarantino-verse has been a connected, shared universe of movies long before Marvel Studios created the biggest ever franchise in Hollywood history. Related characters, product placements, and Tarantino himself have all confirmed such a connection, but there are many, many more clues.

While some are pretty obvious, others may seem like more of a stretch, with audiences having to connect the dots themselves. One of these comes in Reservoir Dogs, with the dropping of one name that had no impact on the movie itself, but may have been given more meaning after the release of Pulp Fiction two years later.

One of the main, and certainly most influential characters in Tarantino’s second movie is Marsellus Wallace. He is a powerful gangster at the centre of all three chapters, but he may have already been mentioned in Reservoir Dogs under the name of Marsellus Spivey.

Marsellus isn’t the most common name in the world, and nothing in Tarantino’s movies is done by accident. Maybe the Marsellus Spivey that sold Larry’s diamonds before going to prison for 20 years escaped, changed his name to Marsellus Wallace, and moved into the narcotics game away from shifting stolen ‘ice’?
